April 1, 1957 -- Opening Day is upon us again, as the FBL franchises take the field tonight to compete for the Federal Cup. Oakland, the defending champs will face stiff competition this season, as many franchises used free agency to re-tool their rosters for the coming season.
The Oakland Victory capped off a 101-win season in a fashion that truly befits their team nickname. After a six-game series victory over the Southeast Division champion New Orleans Black Sox (after jumping out to a 3-0 series lead), the Victory took on division rival (and Western Division champ) Denver Pines for the first Federal Cup. The Federal Cup series also went six games, with Denver jumping out to a 2-1 series lead before Oakland rolled off a three-game win streak to take the series and the championship.

The Federal Baseball League is an 18-team fictional OOTP league starting in 1956. We’re currently full, but feel free to check out the back story, site and rules. If you are interested in a future opening we can definitely put you on the waiting list.
