San Diego’s Edward Thomas hit home run #400 this week against the New Jersey Industrials. In his 2265-game career Thomas has tagged 2012 hits with 427 doubles, 119 triples and 400 home runs. His lifetime batting average is .259 with 1460 RBI and 1536 runs scored.
The Providence Reds were dealt a huge blow today, losing 1st round pick Andy Wright for 12 months. Wright, who was recently named the Face of the Franchise, is the second Reds player hit with a long-term injury. The team lost 4th round pick Mark Holmes to a career ending injury during Spring Training.
The Richmond Grays made Miguel Morato the #1 overall pick of the 1950 Inaugural Draft. The 22-year old spent the last two seasons with the Portland Timbers of the PBPL.
