This is their chance to win the Federal League Cup. |  | Monday, September 11th, 1950: Morato of Richmond Crowned Best Player Pitchers who faced the Richmond Grays last week were happy to see Miguel Morato in the rear view mirror. The 22-year-old right fielder was dubbed the Federal Baseball League Player of the Week for a 6-game tear that saw him hit at a .524 clip.
For the week He also chalked up 11 hits in 21 at-bats, 6 home runs, 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
Morato is batting .327 in 1950 with 50 home runs, 145 RBIs and 125 runs scored. He has 185 hits in 565 at-bats. |  | Sunday, September 10th, 1950: Hawks Shines in Gem Seattle pitcher Michael Hawks put on a show today and walked away with a 6-0 shutout victory over the Indianapolis Arrows, throttling them on 4 hits. He just cruised through their lineup, fanning 7 and walking 2 in a strong outing.
"He was very efficient and he hit his spots," his manager said. "He stayed down in the zone and stayed away from the middle of the plate."
