Sunday, September 10th, 1950: Premier Batter Named by Future Stars League
There's something special about a guy who can stride up to the plate and put the ball anywhere -- in the stands, off the wall, into the gap, down the third base line -- you name the place and Ron Baldwin probably put it there to win the Future Stars League Outstanding Hitter Award for 1950.

The New Haven first baseman belted out 148 hits on his way to a .355 batting average and racked up 31 doubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs, 54 RBI and 64 runs scored.

All of the league award winners will be acknowledged this weekend at the SION Baseball Writers Association annual dinner.
Saturday, September 9th, 1950: Top Pitcher Trophy Won by Harbor Haynes
The hottest hurler in the Future Stars League last season was Andy Haynes of the Tampa Bay Harbor. He caught the attention of everybody in the league by scorching every team in sight to win the 1950 FBLA Outstanding Pitcher Award.

Haynes starred with an impressive 29-10 record in 57 starts. The Harbor ace gave up 331 base hits and struck out 207 in 397 innings with a 2.45 ERA.

All of the award-winning players will be honored this weekend at the SBWA annual awards dinner.
Friday, September 8th, 1950: FBLA Honors 1950 Glove Wizard Award Winners
"Hit 'em where they ain't" is a great hitting philosophy, but it doesn't always work when a fielder can seemingly appear out of nowhere to make the play. These magicians are often glossed over as the season grinds along, but tonight they're given center stage. The guys who change momentum, sacrifice their bodies and leave fans bug-eyed and bewildered finally get their due as defensive accolades will be given out tonight at the SION sports banquet. The 1950 Future Stars League Glove Wizard Award selections are:

Pitcher: Lance Parker (South Bend Badgers)
Catcher: Raúl Rojas (Escondido Orioles)
First Baseman: Matt Sparks (Ogden Wildcats)
Second Baseman: Brandon Gray (Berkeley Athletics)
Third Baseman: Matt Normandy (South Bend Badgers)
Shortstop: Brian Logan (Ogden Wildcats)
Left Fielder: Kevin Roberts (Hood River Brewers)
Center Fielder: Frank Adams (Evansville Rivermen)
Right Fielder: Roger Adams (Tulsa Tornado)
