They were better than good as the Oppressors pitcher put up 3 strikeouts, surrendered 4 walks, allowed 3 hits and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.

There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. Neil Brin of the Toledo Oppressors had one of those moments when he went 5 for 5 at the plate today in the 11-4 win over the Memphis Chiefs at Oppressors Ballpark.
The 24-year-old first baseman told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day...enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe."
N. Brin hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
Brin has a .309 average and a .429 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 77 hits, 2 home runs and driven in 41 runs. | | Wednesday, July 5th, 1950: Razor-Sharp Henderson Blanks Toledo "That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," the Bulldogs manager told reporters after today's game.
The Oppressors ran into a buzzsaw as Francis Henderson cut them down to size 2-0 with a 3-hit shutout.
His skipper added, "He knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."
In the complete game whitewash the Canton hurler doled out 2 walks and registered 3 strikeouts.
In the postgame press conference his catcher said, "Francis goes out there and just goes about his business. I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. You can call any pitch and you know where he's going to be."
Henderson also got some praise from the Toledo manager.
"He really kept us in check today. Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away... we took some pathetic swings."
Checking out his stats for the season, Henderson has notched 3 wins and 3 losses in 3 starts, 5.06 ERA and struck out 16 batters in 37.1 innings. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 44-76, .367 PCT | | Position in Division | 7th, 27.0 GB | | Record at home | 24-36, .400 PCT | | Record on the road | 20-40, .333 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 2-4, .333 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 17-24, .415 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 8-19, .296 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 36-57, .387 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 6-4, .600 PCT | | Record in April | 10-18, .357 PCT | | Record in May | 11-18, .379 PCT | | Record in June | 8-17, .320 PCT | | Record in July | 10-19, .345 PCT | | Record in August | 5-4, .556 PCT |
