| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, September 6th, 1950: Missions Ink SS James to Extension Reports began circulating several days ago that Pat James would re-sign with the Missions, but didn't materialize until today when the club officially confirmed SION's reports.
Details were sketchy, though San Francisco did say James would be with the club 3 years beyond his current deal.
James is hitting at a .290 mark this season. His stats show 15 home runs, 82 RBIs and 83 runs scored. He has played 138 games for the Missions. |  | Wednesday, August 23rd, 1950: San Francisco's Tidwell Down with Injury Watching Calvin Tidwell getting helped off the field today at Golden Gate Fields, fans of the San Francisco Missions feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the starting pitcher will miss 7 months with a ruptured tricep tendon. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Tidwell suffered the injury throwing a pitch in the game against the Suns.
Tidwell has made 24 starts, tossed 185.2 innings, struck out 108 batters and walked 72. His record is 13-9 with a 4.02 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .270 batting average. |  | Monday, August 21st, 1950: FBL Player of the Week Goes to Díaz of San Francisco Júlio Díaz went on a hitting rampage last week against Federal Baseball League pitchers and collected the Player of the Week Award.
The San Francisco center fielder connected for 13 hits in 32 at-bats and 4 home runs. For the week he hit .406 with 11 RBIs and scored 9 runs.
Díaz is swinging at a .300 pace on the year with 18 home runs, 60 RBIs and 53 runs scored.
