Monday, June 12th, 1950: Underdogs MacDonald Smacks 5 Hits!
History in the making. That's what the fans at Underdogs Ballpark got to see today, when Utica outplayed the Appleseeds 11-5. Micheal MacDonald of the Underdogs came to the plate 6 times and came away with a dynamite day as he exploded for 5 hits against Yakima.

In the postgame press conference the Yakima skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink."

M. MacDonald singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.

MacDonald is batting .299 with 1 home runs and 32 RBIs this season.
Saturday, May 27th, 1950: Holmes Whips Berkeley
In an almost effortless performance, Ronald Holmes of the Appleseeds shot down the Athletics 2-0 on a 6-hit shutout.

His skipper said, "Ronald was just locating so well and using his pitches...not leaving anything over the plate."

Holmes recorded 3 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing.

In the postgame press conference, the Berkeley manager said, "When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game like he can and we couldn't get a key hit off him."

Thursday, May 18th, 1950: Hit Parade! Craddock Pops 5 Hits!
It was a good day for the Appleseeds at Ballpark of Livonia as they clipped the Chattanooga Cherokees 5-4. It was tremendous day for Jason Craddock, who went on quite a hitting spree with a 5 for 5 barrage.

The Yakima first baseman told reporters after his big 5-hit performance, "I don't have any buzz words. I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' as they say. As far as the hitting goes, I try to keep it simple. I try not to look into it too much. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then try to hit it. Today I picked up the spin very well."

J. Craddock hit a solo-shot off M. Hunt in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

Craddock is hitting .369 this season with 3 home runs, 18 RBIs and 29 runs scored. He has 66 hits in 179 at-bats.
