Saturday, August 5th, 1950: Jones Struts Stuff in San Bernadino Win
"I felt great out there. After the second or third inning, I got real comfortable," Powell Jones said in his postgame interview. "Hopefully this is a building block for me. I'm hoping for a few more starts like this."

The Greenfield hurler scored a 5-0 shutout victory over the Terriers, stopping them on 5 hits. He rung up 4 strikeouts and gave up no walks in today's performance.

Up to now Jones has compiled an ERA of 3.70 with a 11-11 mark over 25 starts. He has 154 strikeouts in 192 innings and has held opponents to a .283 batting average.
Friday, July 28th, 1950: Nothing Doing for Athletics, Shutout by Ramírez
"He's got a bunch of different arm angles and his ball was really moving," said the Berkeley manager after watching Jorge Ramírez of the San Bernadino Terriers humiliate his club 5-0 in a fine 6-hit shutout.

"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Ramírez said after he befuddled the Athletics. "I was making good pitches the entire game."

He whiffed 7 and walked 2 in the complete game effort.

In season stats Ramírez shows a 8-7 record in 17 games, 140.1 innings, 91 strikeouts and a 2.50 ERA.
Wednesday, July 19th, 1950: Tampa Bay Blanks Terriers
Andy Haynes of the Tampa Bay Harbor blanked San Bernadino 9-0 on 4 hits. He rang up 3 strikeouts, keeping batters off balance all day long.
