Saturday, September 9th, 1950: Morato Hits 3 Homers Against Louisville
It wasn't your average day at the ballpark. The fans witnessed Miguel Morato power his way into the record book with three home runs and propel the Richmond Grays to a 10-4 win over the Louisville Steamboats.

He spoke with reporters after his historic day and told them, "I've always loved hitting in Grays Stadium. You can see the ball so well."

For the day he collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, scored 4 runs and had 4 RBIs.

M. Morato flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off D. LeBlanc in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off R. Velásquez in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off R. Velásquez in the 8th.

In 138 games this season Morato has batted at a .327 pace with 184 hits and 49 home runs.
Tuesday, August 15th, 1950: Wilson Gets 5 Hits
The Steamboats whipped the Reds 14-4 at Falls City Park and Rich Wilson had a big hand in the win. The Steamboats center fielder came to the plate 6 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Wilson and a tough day for Providence.

"I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan."

Plan or not, Wilson delivered today -- 5-6 is outstanding in any league.

R. Wilson tripled in the 1st, hit a two-run triple in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off C. Lewis in the 9th.

This year Wilson has hit at a .223 pace and produced 41 RBIs, 7 home runs and scored 60 runs.
Thursday, August 10th, 1950: Razor-Sharp LeBlanc Blanks Worcester
Dave LeBlanc of the Louisville Steamboats was really in the zone as he mowed down the Worcester hitters 3-0 in a sterling mound performance.

"I'm feeling good overall," he said.

"I'm executing my pitches, I'm able to hit my spots and I'm getting outs in key situations."

LeBlanc shut down the Worcester Whalers, blanking them on 5 hits while registering 4 strikeouts and 3 walks.

To date this year, LeBlanc shows a 14-12 record, 31 starts, 233 innings, 163 strikeouts and a 3.05 ERA.
